A Tip - If you're mugged

If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you.... chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

Got this in an email today. Most of the content the email I'd read before, like - what to do if you get locked in the trunk of a car... This part was new to me, though. And I good suggestion, I think.

yep, good advice, and if it's a street scenario where you can throw it into a place where the mugger might have to go down on one knee (or both) to pick it up, like under the wheel of a car or a street bench, that gives you another second or two head start on the running away part of the game. Carrying a second wallet or purse with a few coins in and a lot of waster paper is another survival strategy- the "chink" as it lands (and you run) diverts their attention to the wallet, it chinked, so it must have money in right? Yep, about 30 pence in change, heavy, sounds good when it hits the ground, not worth mugging anyone for though, thus not a great loss to use as a diversion

Good idea.

As always, I wonder if I'll remember this great advice if I'm every put in this kind of situtation...
