Bush considers plan to promote marriage

President Bush is considering a $1.5 billion proposal to promote marriage among low-income couples that could funnel millions into religious organizations that provide premarital and marriage counseling.

Programs that counsel gay and lesbian couples would be excluded from the plan.

this of course is the part that sucks. having gay & lesbian friends, I see this as an insult. they should be able to get the care as well.

Agreed. I believe any couple who declares themselves as lifepartners (marriage or no) -whether they be man-man, woman-woman, or man-woman - should get to receive the same benefits, etc. There is no such thing as seperate but equal.
