Ceiling Fans and Energy Costs

If you properly use ceiling fans, you can reduce your heating and cooling costs dramatically. Using them properly is the key to gaining the maximum benefit.

Whenever a room is warm, the fan should be switched to draw air upward, raising the cooler air from the floor. This will make the room feel cool even at warmer temperatures. When the room is cool, the opposite is true. Switch the fan to push the warm air from the ceiling down into the room.

Depending on your situation, the cost savings can be dramatic. Keep your fans clean and operating in the proper direction.

Lord of the Rings

Last night we watched The Fellowship of the Ring. Rented it from Blockbuster. I had not seen it, and although it was long, and I was WAY tired by the end, I enjoyed it alot.
I don't know if I'd own it. I think watching it once was enough.
I would be more inclined to read the books now, though.
