ST. GEORGE, Utah., Nov 20 (Reuters) -
Regional airline Skywest Inc said on Wednesday it was notified by Nasdaq that the company's shares may be delisted because it failed to file its third-quarter 10-Q form.
The company intends to request a hearing before a Nasdaq listing qualifications panel and is determined to maintain its listing. Skywest said it expects its shares to continue to be listed on the Nasdaq pending the appeal.

Delta on Wednesday said it will launch a low-fare carrier on the East Coast next spring, but offered few details on amenities, routes or how it will differ from the current effort, Delta Express.
The new airline, which will replace Delta Express and represent about 10 percent of overall capacity in the first year, does not yet have a name. It is will fly initially from the Northeast down to Florida on Boeing 757s.

The Israeli government on Monday said security agents aboard an El Al Airlines jet foiled a ''terrorist attack'' when they wrestled a passenger to the floor during a struggle shortly before the plane landed in Turkey.
Members of the flight crew and passengers said Tawfiq Fukra, a 23-year-old Israel Arab, rushed the cockpit after arguing with a flight attendant. They said he had a pocket knife.

Cars crash gate, race around field at Birmingham airport

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- As baffled airport workers looked on, two cars smashed through a locked gate at Birmingham International Airport and sped across a runway and taxiways before ramming through another gate to escape.
