Apparently, neither does Sarah:
I'm currently reading The Year of Living Biblically, by AJ Jacobs. He spent a year trying to follow the Bible as literally as possible, documenting his experiences, so he read the Bible from cover to cover and wrote down all the rules - over 700. And apparently the Bible is anti-winking.
"The Bible's antiwinking bias (there are at least four warnings against winkers) is one of the least-studied scriptural motifs around. I found negligible literature on the topic. But it does seem wise and ahead of its time, the wink being perhaps the world's creepiest gesture, with the winker convincing the winkee into being a part of his little cabal."
I agree with the creepiness factor, most definitely.
