Whenever a room is warm, the fan should be switched to draw air upward, raising the cooler air from the floor. This will make the room feel cool even at warmer temperatures. When the room is cool, the opposite is true. Switch the fan to push the warm air from the ceiling down into the room.
Depending on your situation, the cost savings can be dramatic. Keep your fans clean and operating in the proper direction.
